CORRECTION: Hunton man admits using threatening words or behaviour

Harrogate Justice Centre.

An article posted on Richmondshire Today earlier this week incorrectly stated that a Hunton man had admitted a two-and-a-half year campaign against his neighbour.

Jack David Brown, 25, of Leyburn Road, was due to face trial at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on Monday on a charge of harassment against his neighbour between July 2018 and November 2020.

However, no evidence was offered for this offence by the prosecution and it was dismissed.

Brown did admit a charge of using threatening words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress following an incident at Hunton on November 12, 2020.

Brown had admitted a further charge of assaulting a named man, causing him actual bodily harm, at a previous hearing in December last year.

Brown will be sentenced for the two offences on February 25 following the compilation of a probation report.

Richmondshire Today apologises for the error and any inconvenience or distress it caused.
