Husband and wife folk duo to perform at Reeth

Husband and wife duo Megson return to Reeth Memorial Hall on Saturday, September 30, with their unique brand of folk music which draws heavily on their Teesside roots.

Three times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and double winners of the Spiral Earth Awards, bring an infectious mix of heavenly vocals, lush harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars to the stage.

Between them the couple play whistle, piano accordion, guitar, mandola and banjo and have gained fame on the British folk scene for their arresting and intelligent songwriting as well as their exquisite musicianship and northern humour.

Their first new studio album in four years, ‘What are we trying to say’, focusses on how we rely heavily on the media for information while still needing to work out what is the real truth.

Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start.

Tickets are £15 in advance (£17 on the door) under 16s half price and proceeds are for the Memorial Hall; on sale at Reeth Post Office or contact Glen Steward 01748-884989, email: memorialhall@swaledale.co.uk
