Inaugural Leyburn fashion show to highlight autumn collections

Fashion lovers are in for a treat this autumn when the Garden Rooms at Tennants hosts its first fashion show, celebrating the best of the region’s high street retailers.

The event on Friday, September 28 will feature the new autumn 2018 ladies and menswear collections from Barkers of Northallerton, The Wool Booth, also from Northallerton, John Lewis from Leeds and Harrogate-based Georgie’s and Julie Fitzmaurice.

Hairstyling will be provided by Baroque, one of the North’s top boutique salons in Harrogate and Ripon, with make up by Blush Beauty of Richmond.

The event will also include a pop up fashion village made up of retailers in the fashion show and 20 local fashion shops and beauty salons.

Experts will be on hand to offer visitors personal styling and beauty tips as well as the chance to snap up the new season’s fashions.

Three live catwalk shows will feature a variety of different scenes; from occasion-wear to leisurewear and will combine ready to wear, bespoke and couture fashion, all professionally styled and modelled by Catwalk Events.

There is a choice of two afternoon and one evening shows and the fashion village will be open to the public from 12 noon throughout the day.

The event will support the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre appeal which aims to raise half a million pounds to build the first dedicated cancer unit at The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

All ticket holders to one of the shows will be greeted with a glass of fizz on arrival and the restaurant and café will be open for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner, making this a must do event in the autumn social calendar.

Director of The Garden Rooms at Tennants, Alison Tennant said: “The Fashion Show aims to fly the flag for our great regional fashion retailers and, along with the Fashion Village, we hope it will be a great afternoon out whilst raising much needed funds for the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre.

“All those involved in the show and the Fashion Village are known for offering amazing personal service as well as great choice and quality fashions which is something we need to celebrate.”

Rebecca Shanks, from Macmillan, said: “We are delighted to be the chosen charity for this fantastic event and we are looking forward to sharing more about the work we are doing to improve cancer care in the region.”
