A total of 87 entrants took part in the inaugural September Saunter which was held last weekend.
Starting from the centre of Leyburn, the walk covered 13.6 miles over the paths and tracks passing through Wensley, onto Middleham, then to Cover Bridge before returning to the Wensleydale School in Leyburn where walkers were greeted with soup, rolls and cake.
President of Wensleydale Rotary Club Ray Wilkinson said: “We were very pleased to see so many people taking part in the event.
“We got very good comments back from the participants and hope to run the event again next year.”
Proceeds from the event are going to the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease
This event compliments the clubs other two events, the Wensleydale Wander in the spring and the Herriot Run in early August, both of which were well supported.

The winning woman was Jennifer Duncan (number 53) followed by Abbie Hull (number 62)
