Injured fell runner rescued by Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team volunteers

Volunteers from Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team came to the rescue of an injured fell runner today.

The team was called by North Yorkshire Police to help the runner on the top of Fremington Edge near Reeth.

Two team members were deployed on a quad bike, two more set off on skis and two were on foot.

Once the casualty was located they evacuated the runner on a stretcher to the team vehicle and then to the road ambulance.

Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team receives no official funding and is run by volunteers and donations.
