Jervaulx Abbey to be lit up for charity

Jervaulx Abbey lit up in 2018.

Jervaulx Abbey will be lit up for third year running for charity next month.

The event at the historic venue between Middleham and Masham will raise money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

Organiser Anna Burdon said: “The lights begin at 5pm, with the sun light leaving and the colours start appearing in these first few hours, perfect for a wander round with natural light.

“Once dark, the colours and atmosphere begin. We have music and live music, each dependant on the evening, played from the centre of the abbey in the cloisters.”

It will take place on four evenings next month — October 18, 19, 25 and 26 from 5pm to 9pm.

Admission is £7.50 for adults, £5 for children and free for U3s.

Pay on entry, no need to book.
