Players from a football team have run the equivalent distance of Richmondshire to London.
Leyburn United JFC U14s were challenged to get out running during the second lockdown to keep them fit and ready for the season resuming.
The team is currently battling for top spot in the third division of the Russell Foster Youth League.
Coach Shane Close asked the players to run distances varying from 1km to 5km over the lockdown, either outside or on a treadmill.
He said: “We’ve had a really good start to our first season in the Russell Foster League, with the team competing against much larger clubs from across the region.
“We wanted to keep the lads fit during the break and thought a long-distance challenge might make training on their own more fun.
“I was delighted that the players embraced the idea and literally ran with it!”
The club also organised a competitio0n during the lockdown to design a new logo.
The winner is due to be announced shortly.
