Kim Wilde and Big Country set to play Tan Hill

Kim Wilde.

The owners of Tan Hill Inn say they want to continue the tradition of hosting big names at the remote pub.

In addition to Kim Wilde, this summer will also see Scottish band Big Country playing on July 17 and From The Jam performing on July 18.

Efforts are ongoing to secure another band for July 25, the day after the Wilde gig.

Owner Andrew Hields, who bought the pub in 2018, said: “We are currently talking to a few top bands so it’s fingers crossed.

“We always persuade people by saying you mostly started by playing in pubs so it would be cool to play at not only the highest pub in the British isles, but also one of the most famous pubs in the world.

“Why wouldn’t you want to do that? It’s certainly different to an arena.”

The venue at the top of Arkengarthdale has played host to a number of big name bands in recent year, including Arctic Monkeys and Scouting For Girls.
