Kiplin Hall will be featured on Tony Robinson’s Coast to Coast next month
Tony and the team from Full Fat TV visited Kiplin Hall last summer and filmed on a glorious sunny day.
The programme will be screened at 8pm on Friday April 7 on Channel 5.
The programme will show him talking with Chris Baker, head gardener, about the gardens restoration project.
The programme will also show Tony enjoying a home-made tea in the tea room after talking to Chris about how the Kiplin garden volunteer team help to grow vegetables in the Walled Garden, which are then used in the tea room.
Kiplin Hall opens for the new season on April 1 and will be open every Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 11.00am to 5.00pm until November 1.
The gardens, grounds, children’s play area and tea room have been open since February, and continue to be open Saturday – Wednesday 10am to 5pm.
The house and gardens are closed Thursdays and Fridays, except for Good Friday.
April also sees the opening of the 2017 Exhibition in the Hall, Home Sweet Home – the houses of Kiplin’s widespread families.
This year’s exhibition traces the links, by blood or marriage, to the owners of houses with family connections to Kiplin Hall: from Ashington Hall to Alton Towers, Belton House to Blickling Hall, and Danby Wiske to Duncombe Park.
Houses large and small, in Britain and abroad, feature in this insight into the homes of Kiplin’s extended families.
There will also be the chance to join in the school holiday fun for families and become Easter Eggsplorers from April 8 to 26, and see the North Yorkshire Vintage Machinery Society show items from their collections on Easter Sunday.
