Kirkwood Hall celebrates first anniversary

Kirkwood Hall in Leyburn celebrated has celebrated its first anniversary.

Residents of the Broadacres-run extra care scheme enjoyed an afternoon of fun on Thursday.

Local singer Colin Bailey and Leyburn vicar Rev Chris Lawton provided the musical entertainment.

County councillor Karin Sedgwick was also on hand to encourage participation.

Kirkwood Hall manager Michelle Mottershead said the first year had gone very well.

“All the flats and bungalows are full. We just have four studios left.

“Everyone has settled in lovely and we felt we couldn’t let the first birthday go buy without a celebration.”



  1. Hi Joe the Kirkwood anniversary afternoon was actually held on Thursday not Friday – whoops! I was there to celebrate with my mum Margaret who lives at Kirkwood. It was a lovely afternoon especially for the residents, the managers & staff worked really hard to make it a success. Thanks Joe
