
Today is the last day to enter the new Lower Wensleydale Business Network awards.
The winners of the new scheme will be announced at this year’s annual traders ball which wil be held at tghe Garden Rooms at Tennants in Leyburn on September 30.
The awards aim to recognise the business talent which the Yorkshire Dales has to offer, to acknowledge local entrepreneurs and the best independent businesses.
The awards are open to all local business in the Yorkshire Dales and closing date is September 15.

Tickets for the ball are £45 or £50 to non-members of the network.
Richmond MP Rishi Sunak will also be attending the evening and will give a speech about the awards

The awards are:
Young entrepreneur of the year
Description – Aged 25 or younger, this entrepreneur has gained exceptional achievements for their age. They will be able to provide details of their journey to success including overcoming obstacles and identifying new opportunities. This entrepreneur should be an inspiration for other young entrepreneurs and be based in the Yorkshire Dales.

Small business of the year
Description – This award will be given to an entrepreneur at the helm of a small business of under 10 employees. The entrepreneur will have examples that show their skill to overcome obstacles and difficulties to ensure a secure and growing success, based in the Yorkshire Dales.

Best start up business of the year
Description – This award will be given to an entrepreneur who has forged their new enterprise over the last two years, perhaps overcoming obstacles and difficulties to ensure a secure and growing success. This entrepreneur has created their enterprise by identifying and exploiting a market opportunity whilst building a solid foundation from which to grow in the future, based in the Yorkshire Dales.
