Children and parents from Le Cateau Primary School in Cattyerick Garrison held a picnic to mark the King’s coronation.
Headteacher Ian Mottram said: “The coronation was a momentous occasion for the whole country with everyone wanting to witness this special event, and Le Cateau CP School was no different with banners and flags all around the school.
“The perfect way to finish of the celebrations was with a celebration picnic on our school field.
“All the parents were invited along and had the opportunity to sample some of our chef’s beautiful celebration food and cakes.
“Even though the weather wasn’t as warm as we had hoped the atmosphere was still amazing, all the children loved spending time with their family and friends and experiencing this very special occasion.”
