Le Cateau celebrates World Book Day

Le Cateau Primary School in Catterick Garrison marked World Book Day by inviting the children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

There were a variety of costumes and staff said they were very impressed with how much effort was made.

Ian Mottram, headteacher, said: “At Le Cateau we believe that reading is fundamental.

“In fact, it is one of the most important ingredients to becoming all that you can be.

“We have always encouraged children to read both at home and in school, and will promote reading however we can.

“World Book Day is always a great day and the children enjoy talking about which book character they have come as.”
