Le Cateau Primary School has received a donation of £1,960 from the Co-op in Colburn.
The money will be used to buy books for the Catterick Garrison school’s new library.
The money comes from the store’s local community fund. Every time Co-op members shop at the store, one per cent of what they spend on selected own-branded products and services goes to help fund local community projects.
Headteacher Ian Mottram said: “We were overwhelmed to hear that we had received this amount of money and we are extremely grateful to everyone who chose us as their cause.
“This money will be used to buy brand new books for our school library.”
