Le Cateau receives award for diabetes care

Le Cateau Primary School, in Catterick Garrison, have been awarded with a Good Diabetes Care in School Award.

The award recognises schools who make sure children and teenagers with Type 1 diabetes get the care and support they need so they can reach their potential.

Alison Cafferty, deputy headteacher and special educational needs coordinator, said “We are extremely honoured to have received this award. We take the health and well-being of our pupils very seriously. This award is a testament to the commitment and hard work of our school team.

The school’s higher level teaching assistant Steph Hodgson will also be running the Great North Run in support of this charity, while foundation stage leader Sophie Bell is holding a mini marathon to raise sponsorship money towards this.
