The popular 1940s weekend in Leyburn has been cancelled, but events are still taking place in and around the town.
Organisers say a shortage of volunteers is one of the reasons the decision has been taken.
The event, which is organised by Leyburn and Mid Wensleydale Partnership Ltd, was due to take place from July 22 to 24.
It was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Organisers say it has been decided to cancel the official event because it was not financially viable.
Director and Leyburn Town Council chairman Richard Sanderson said: “This was a very difficult decision for us but stand bookings were not coming in so the sums were not adding up.
“We also had logistical issues including a lack of volunteer stewards.
“We will review the situation next year and we hope to revive the event which has been much enjoyed in the past.
“It would help us make a favourable decision if anyone willing to help gets in touch with us via the Leyburn Town Council office. ”
Organisers say a programme of entertainment will still take place at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre and pubs in the town.
It is understood some re-enacters are still planning to attend.
