Leyburn Arts and Community Centre issues volunteer appeal

Leyburn Arts and Community Centre.

Leyburn Arts and Community Centre is looking for volunteers to help run the full range of activities it offers.

The centre is appealing for anyone with a little bit of spare time on their hands who would be prepared to help.

Jeannie Bishop, from the centre, said: “For example, do you enjoy cooking? The Lunch Club and Tuesday Club would like a reserve list of volunteers who are able to cook light meals.

“How about reception duties? Morning reception and relief receptionists are needed to cover holidays.

“Are you keen on going to the Cinema? We always need projectionists who are able to operate a DVD player and FoH volunteers to welcome and support our customers.”

The cafe/bar also needs volunteers for films, events and fundraising coffee mornings.

Jeannie added: “Room preparation – do you have a little bit of free time and would be prepared to help with room set up and furniture moving for groups hiring our rooms during the week?

“Interested in our new Community Shed? A development team is being assembled for the next stage of planning activities.”

If you think you might be interested and able to help, call in to the centre or call 01969 624510.

Alternatively, visit the next volunteers together session on Thursday, February 22 at 2pm.
