Leyburn library offers select and collect service

Thornborough Hall.

Leyburn’s volunteer-run library is offering a select and collect service during the second lockdown.

Users can call the library, which is based at Thornborough Hall, or go online to request a book.

Jenny Walker, from the library, said: “Although we can no longer welcome customers into the library, the volunteers will still be in the library to take your telephone calls for you to tell us your book selections, and to book a day to collect your books.

“Reservations for books from any of the NYCC libraries are available to order online, or telephone us and we will request the books for you. Returns continue as before into the green boxes at the door.

“We are there on Monday mornings now as well.”

Users can call the library on 01609 535971 on Mondays 10am to 12pm, Tuesdays 10am to 12pm or 2.30pm to 4.30pm, Fridays 10am to 12pm and Saturdays 10am to 12pm to request a book and arrange for collection.

An answerphone is available out of hours.
