Life before sat nav to be discussed at talk

Leyburn Arts and Community Centre.

A talk entitled Life before Sat Nav – the story of the humble milestone will take place at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre next month.

U3A will host the talk given by Hilary Jones who will explore how we find our way around now and in the past.

She will consider the development of the road network and why milestones appeared.

Hilary who is vice-chair of the Milestone Society will describe its work and why these often overlooked stones now need friends.

Local examples from North Yorkshire will be featured with plenty of opportunity for discussion.

U3A meets on the third Friday of the month at Leyburn Arts and Community Centre, Richmond Road, Leyburn DL8 5DL.

Doors open at 10am for 10.30am. Wveryone is welcome.

Annual membership is £12 or £20 for two people at the same address.
