Local businesses attended a careers fair at The Wensleydale School this week.

Students had the chance to speak to companies, universities and colleges who offered practical advice and information about the opportunities available.

Chris Ellis, the school’s careers lead, added, ”It was a brilliant day, with companies from a wide range of industries offering advice and inspiration to the students.

“We also had colleges and universities, for those thinking about further education.”

WDS Accountants managing director Julie Young attended the event.

She said: “I started as an apprentice myself and worked my way up through the business.

“I would urge the students to say yes to any opportunities that are open to them even if they take them out of their comfort zone.”

Other local businesses at the fair included IGH Hotels and Resorts, Cogent Skills, Clarksons Accountants and pharmaceutical company, GSK.
