A local charity will open a pop-up shop in Richmond next week.
The Paul Curran Celebration Trust will sell second-hand art and books at 13 King Street.
As one of her last duties as the town’s mayor, Councillor Lorraine Hodgson met charity trustee Linda Curran, at the premises.
Cllr Hodgson said she was thrilled to see the local charity, which supports Richmondshire children and young people with individual needs, open a pop-up shop again.
Linda said: “We hope to raise awareness of the charity as well as raising funds so that we can offer match funding to parish and town councils here in Richmondshire for accessible play equipment in our local play areas.
“The last time we opened up we were in this shop too thanks to the kindness of the owner Mr Thompson.
“The shop will still be available for any business to lease and we are just here temporarily. We do hope to be around for a coupe of months.
“We had another pop up in Frenchgate and the match funding we gave out generated over £40,000.
“We hope to be just as successful this time.”
If you have paintings or prints to donate or would like to volunteer in the shop please contact Linda on 07507 355526.
