Local climate action group holds event to coincide with COP28

Almost 30 people attended a meeting on local action on climate change at Richmond Town Hall this week.

The Talking Climate Change event was held on November 29 to coincide with the start of the global COP28 summit on climate change.

The event attracted residents from Richmond and the wider area, including Bainbridge, Newton le Willows, Catterick Village, Brompton on Swale and Whashton.

Led by Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership chair Barbara Gravenor, participants shared their enthusiasm, ideas and ambitions for doing more locally to tackle climate change and care for the environment.

Commenting after the event, Barbara said: “It was great to see so many people and groups all wanting to work together on this, and it provides a great platform for us all to do a little bit more in 2024.”

  1. I wish there had been more information about this event as I would have loved to attend.
Are there any more planned and if so how do I find out about them?
