A construction services company is hoping its sponsorship will help Richmondshire Cricket Club’s under-17s to hit the opposition for six this season.

Sponsorship from Biker Group has enabled the team to buy new shirts for the 2018 season as they begin their defence of the junior league (north) title they won in 2017.

They have already got off to a good start winning their first two league games of the season and winning the North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Junior Cup.

Biker Group have been long-standing supporters of Richmondshire Cricket Club.

Business Development Manager Sam Biker explained: “Myself and my two brothers Ben and Matthew have both played junior and adult cricket for Richmondshire so it’s a club close to our hearts.

“As a company employing around 200 local people, we are keen to give something back to the community and supporting local organisations forms part of this.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the under-17s this season and hopefully this year will be just as successful as 2017 for the lads.”

Tracey Winter, from Richmondshire Cricket Club, said: “Like any sporting organisations or groups we rely on generous donations like this to enable us to provide cricketing opportunities for juniors and adults.

“We would like to thank Biker Group for their continued support of the club and the under-17s in particular.

“Hopefully they will be able to reproduce their achievements of last year.”
