A walker who became lost in boggy ground was helped to safety after the police called out the Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team.
A small team of volunteers responded to the incident near Tan Hill in Arkengarthdale and located the walker before escorting them safely off the hill.
The rescue team said that although maps show a clear path in the area, the route is, in reality, largely boggy ground, making navigation difficult and potentially hazardous for walkers.
No injuries were reported.
