Man admits killing veteran at Catterick Garrison centre

A man has pleaded guilty to the killing of an Army veteran.

Craig Guy, 34, died following an incident at The Beacon in Catterick Garrison in April.

Ian McLaughlin, 51, of Marne Road, Catterick Garrison, pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Teesside Crown Court on Monday.

He denied a charge of murder and the case was adjourned.

Mr Guy, originally from Sunderland, was found with a fatal stab wound at 11.30pm on April 13.

The Beacon offers supported housing to single veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and who have support needs.
