A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Colburn woman Natalie Harker.
Andrew Lee Pearson, 44, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court after being remanded in custody following his arrest.
Mr Pearson, of Chestnut Court, Catterick Garrison, confirmed his name and address before the charges were read out by the court clerk.
He is accused of the murder and kidnap of 30-year-old Ms Harker, whose body was found in a wooded area in Brough with St Giles on October 9.
It is alleged that Mr Pearson killed Ms Harker at Foss Way, Catterick Garrison, on that date.
The case was sent to Teesside Crown Court, where Mr Pearson will appear tomorrow morning for a preliminary hearing.
Pearson, wearing a grey top, was remanded in custody until the Teesside hearing.
