A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting emergency workers following an incident in Richmond this afternoon.
A member of the public reported concerns for the welfare of a man who had apparently collapsed near the River Swale at the bottom of Sleegill.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene, with firefighters from Richmond and Colburn also called to assist due to the terrain.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics, however he was then arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers who had come to help him.
The road was closed for a short time while emergency personell worked at the scene.
