Man arrested for driving offences after incident in Reeth

A man has been arrested after a disturbance in Reeth on Wednesday.

North Yorkshire Police said they received a call claiming a male was drink driving in the Arkengarthdale Road, Reeth.

The report stated that the male had crashed into a number of cars causing substantial damage.

Police say officers attended the scene and arrested a male for driving whilst over the prescribed limit, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

The male has been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We understand that this incident caused upset to a number of victims and witnesses.

“Please be reassured that the male in question has been dealt with robustly and is no longer staying in the North Yorkshire area.”
