Man attacked at Richmond taxi rank

A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked at a taxi rank in Richmond Market Place at the weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident.

An unprovoked assault occurred at the taxi rank in Richmond market place at around 11.40pm on Saturday.

It involved a man in his 50s who sustained an eye injury which required hospital treatment.

A police spokesperson said: “In particular, we are appealing for information about two men suspected of assaulting the victim.

“Both are described as being in their late 20s, with very short hair and tattoos on their arms. One was wearing a white t-shirt, the other a black t-shirt.”
