Man due in court after Leyburn town centre crash

A man is due in court in connection with a car crash in Leyburn market place last year.

The 18-year-old is due to appear at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court on February 27 to face charges of driving without due care and attention and failing to stop at a road accident.

The crash occurred on November 3 last year.

The black Vauxhall Astra hit railings outside the former HSBC bank in the town’s High Street.

The car then gone collided with the window of a shop – Victoria’s Lingerie – and come to rest on its side.

Police appealed for information at the time saying the driver was uninjured but had made off from the scene.
