Police say a man they wanted to speak to after a reporter was assaulted in Richmond has identified.
North Yorkshire Police issued a still image of a male they wanted to speak to following the assault last month.
The incident happened at Market Place, Richmond at 12.40pm on Wednesday, April 13 and involved a man assaulting a woman while she was doing a news report.
Officers asked members of the public to get in touch if they recognised the person in the image as it was believed that he could have information that could help the investigation.
A police spokesperson said: “The male in the image has now been identified and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
“Officers have thanked everyone who shared the appeal, including the media, and also thanked those who called in with information.”
