Man injured during robbery in Colburn

A man was injured while being robbed by a group of youths in Colburn last night.

The incident happened at about 7.10pm in an alleyway leading to the Broadway.

The victim, aged in his early 50s, reported that he was walking to the Co-op store when he was approached by a group of four or five youths.

They demanded that he handed over his phone and money.

He told the youths he didn’t have his phone, but they took his money before running off

The victim then realised his arm was bleeding from a slash wound.

The man did not require medical treatment.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects and police have asked for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

  1. So why dont the Police cid sit on bench in plain clothes outside chippy or co-op about same time – Im sure they will come bk and try again..afterall its what paid for thru council tax!
