A man has been jailed for breaching a domestic violence protection order on the same day it was issued.
Dominic Kelly, 26, of St James Chapel Wynd, Richmond, appeared before magistrates in York yesterday.
He was charged with breaching a domestic violence protection order on the same day it was issued on Tuesday last week.
The court heard he had contacted the victim on a number of occasions, with magistrates being told the defendant had shown a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.
He also admitted damaging an internal door belonging to Richmondshire District Council at his home address on March 17 and causing damage totalling £75.
Kelly admitted the breach.
He was sentenced to six weeks in prison for the offences.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.
