Welcome to Yorkshire has secured £1m of funding over the next year in a project which will see the creation of new bookable cycling packages in Yorkshire targeting Dutch and German tourists.

The initiative forms part of the Discover England Fund, led by Visit England.

The tourism agency will work with German and Dutch tour operators to create  bookable cycling holidays in the county, focusing on some of Yorkshire’s most iconic long-distance cycle routes – including the Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way, Way of the Roses and Yorkshire Wolds Way.

Packages will include accommodation, food and drink, attractions, transport, bike hire and other elements that make up a cycle break.

Businesses are invited to find out more about the initiative and the opportunities available.

The workshop will include a short presentation on the initiative, research findings and what the international travel trade are looking for together with advice and information on how to tap into the cycle market, and a Q&A opportunity.

The session in Richmondshire will take place at Simonstone Hall, near Hawes, on Jene 19.
