A medal-winning weightlifter has opened a new studio for her personal training business.
Jessica Perrin won silver at the British Championships in 2016 at the 58kg category.
She fell in love with the sport and decided to become a personal trainer in order to spend more time in the gym after previously working in childcare.
After previously working from ML Sports and Fitness in Richmond, Jessica has now taken the plunge and opened her own fitness studio on the town’s Gallowfields Industrial Estate.
The 30-year-old, who has recently had her first child, opened the studio at the beginning of December.
She said: “I fell in love with weightlifting and became a personal trainer basically so I could live in the gym.
“I work with all ages and abilities, including the military who are working for their physical fitness assessment.
“I feel that I can work with and help a large demographic of people due to my experience in recent years of training for a national competition and then having to scale things back when I was pregnant.”
Jessica said she hoped to expand in the future and perhaps move into a bigger unit and increase the number of classes offered.
