A clothing recycling company says the opening of its Catterick Garrison outlet was a milestone for the Northallerton-based firm.

Smart Recycling open its drop off point in the car park at the Princes Gate Retail Park earlier this year.

The public can drop-off their unwanted clothes and be paid per kilo of clothes accepted.

The company’s Toms Zingers said: “The business headquarters are in Northallerton, thus every new establishment opened is Yorkshire is special, but the drop-off point in Catterick Garrison is a milestone as it is our 50th drop-off point.

“We hope that the local community will embrace the concept, since it is a fantastic way to de-clutter the wardrobe, raise extra funds and ensure that the surrounding areas are not polluted with unwanted clothes.

“By bringing clothes to the Smart Recycling drop-off point, people can make sure that their unwanted clothes will be given a second life and will be used till the end of their natural life cycle.”

Smart Recycling has been operating for over 15 years. It has also been called Rag’n’Phone Man, Cash 4 Clothes, but following a  rebranding and launch of an overseas operation, Smart Recycling has been chosen as the unified brand.

The Smart Recycling drop-off point at the Princes Gate Retail Park is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm, and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
