Miniature masterpieces go on display at Green Howards Museum

The Green Howards Museum in Richmond will host a one-day event this November, celebrating the skill and artistry of military model making.

On Saturday, November 15, from 10am to 4.30pm, members of IPMS North Riding (International Plastic Modellers Society) will present a Military Model Exhibition, filling the museum with meticulously crafted miniature recreations of tanks, aircraft, and historic battle scenes.

Visitors can expect a stunning range of displays covering different eras and military themes, each reflecting the craftsmanship and historical knowledge of its maker. Members of IPMS North Riding will also be on hand throughout the day to share their techniques, answer questions, and offer advice to anyone interested in taking up the hobby.

Steve Erskine, researcher at the museum, said: “This exhibition is a brilliant opportunity to shine a light on the artistry and community behind military model making.

“We’re thrilled to welcome IPMS North Riding and their extraordinary work to the museum.”

The event is included with regular museum admission and requires no booking.
