Mining history walk to take place next month

Author Alan Mills, on behalf of the local archaeology group, will lead a moderate four-mile walk next month.,

Lasting around three hours, the walk will explore the extensive lead-mining remains around Slei Gill, Arkengarthdale

Discover levels, hushes, dressing floors, a crushing mill and a smelt mill in the dramatic scenery of Slei Gil on Saturday, September 9.

The walk will leave the public car-park just south of Langthwaite at 10am.
