More than 60 artists will showcase and sell their work when a free arts festival returns to Swaledale.
Reeth Arts Festival will take place in a field overlooking Fremington Edge in the Yorkshire Dales National Park on September 5, with a programme also featuring live music, workshops, children’s activities and wellbeing sessions.
Organisers say the event has been set up to support local artists, with exhibitors not charged a pitch fee or commission and therefore able to keep all the proceeds from work they sell.
This year’s festival will feature more than 60 artists, alongside seven hours of live music covering a range of genres.
There will also be free activities for children and adults, guided meditation and sound healing sessions, free face painting, reiki and dance.
The programme will include workshops and talks covering subjects including wild medicine and living seasonally.
Food and drink will be available during the festival, while visitors are also being encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and spend the day at the event.
The gates will open at 10am.
Free parking will be available nearby and will be signposted, while toilet facilities will be provided in the festival field, which has the postcode DL11 6TS.
Organisers are advising visitors to bring cash as well as payment cards, as some artists may not accept card payments and mobile phone reception at the site could make electronic payments difficult.
The festival is being supported this year by Moments Cafe, The Buck in Reeth, Landmarc, Avant Gardners and Stay in Swaledale.
