More than 90 new Covid-19 cases in a week

More than 90 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Richmondshire in a week.

The rate of positive tests per 100,o00 people in the district has risen to 169 in the seven days to June 24.

Richmondshire now has the highest rate in North Yorkshire at 169 and Ryedale has the lowest at 58.

The rate for England as a whole is 136 while North Yorkshire’s average is up to 123 from 93 on Friday.

A total of 91 new cases were reported over that period.

Localised data shows there were 38 cases in Catterick Garrison and Colburn in the seven days to June 22.

There were 12 cases in Catterick Village and Brompton and 11 in the Leyburn and Middleham area over the same period.

Elsewhere in the district, there were seven cases in north Richmondshire, six in the upper Dales and three in Richmond.

A permanent testing site is currently running at Ypres Lines, Richmond Road, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3JF.

It is open every day for testing between 8am and 1.30pm.

Between 2.30pm and 8pm it is open for collecting tests if you don’t have symptoms.

There are also a number of mobile testing sites open from 9am to 3pm oin the district in coming days:

  • Thursday 1 July – Leyburn – district council car park, Leyburn, DL8 5EE
  • Friday 2 July – Richmond – Round Howe Car Park, Reeth Road, Richmond, DL10 4TL
  • Sunday 4 July – Richmond – Round Howe Car Park, Reeth Road, Richmond, DL10 4TL
