Police have seized an off-road motorbike in Catterick Garrison as part of a bank holiday crackdown on uninsured and antisocial riders.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police said they had been carrying out patrols across the area over the weekend, speaking with road users, offering advice and taking enforcement action where necessary.
The operation focused in part on motorcycles and off-road bikes following recent reports of antisocial behaviour.
During the patrols, officers stopped a motorbike in Catterick Garrison and discovered the rider had no driving licence or insurance.
Police also found the bike had no front or rear lights and no registration plate.
The vehicle was subsequently seized.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “The message is simple: no insurance means no vehicle.”
The force added that uninsured drivers are statistically more likely to be involved in serious collisions and are often linked to offences including drink and drug driving.
Police also warned that uninsured vehicles are frequently poorly maintained and pose a danger to other road users.
