A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a crash in the Dales today.

The man in his 30s from Bolton was riding a green and black Kawasaki on the B6479 from Settle towards Ribblehead when it left the road and collided with a dry stone wall.

He was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the incident, which happened at 11am.

He remains in a critical condition.

A police spokesperson said: “Emergency services attended the scene and we are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who has not yet spoken to us.

“In particular, we’d like to speak to the occupants of a silver Skoda Citigo which was travelling towards Settle who may have seen the incident.”
