Motorist cut free after crash near Barton

A motorist had to be cut free by firefighters after a crash yesterday.

The incident occurred between Barton and Stapleton at about 5pm.

Firefighters from Richmond and Darlington attended the two-vehicle collision.

Crews worked alongside paramedics to remove a side of one of the car using cutting equipment.

The driver was then removed and taken to hospital by road ambulance.

Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
