Motorist cut free by firefighters after collision in Wensleydale

A motorist had to be cut free by firefighters after a collision in Wensleydale last night.

The two-vehicle accident occurred on Brunton Bank, between Redmire and Carperby.

Retained firefighters from Leyburn and Reeth were called to the scene at 11.51pm.

A spokesperson for Leyburn Fire Station: “With one person needing extricating from his vehicle with lower leg injuries caused by the footwell being crushed inwards, crews used the cutting gear to release them and in to the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service.”

The motorist was taken to hospital by ambulance
