
A motorist was walked to safety after their vehicle become stuck in flood water yesterday.
Heavy raid caused flooding on roads in Wensleydale, including the Hawes and Worton areas.
Fire crews from Hawes and Leyburn walked a man to a place of safety in Hawes after his vehicle became stuck in still water.
Water rescue equipment was used for the incident which was reported at about 2pm.
In a separate incident, a watch manager at Richmond Fire Station inspected concerns over a shop sign damaged due to high winds in the town centre.
The officer worked with shop staff to remove the sign safely.
