A motorist who damaged a wall outside a Wensleydale garage has been urged to come forward.
The wall outside the Dale Head Garage in Hawes was hit this morning.
The garage is owned by the local community and the person responsible has been urged to come forward to arrange for the repair work to be paid for.
Jill McMullon is chair of Hawes and High Abbotside Parish Council.
She said: “It would be great if the person responsible could come forward.
“It’s unfortunate that nobody has yet admitted they caused the damage.
“The garage is owned by the community and it would be a shame if the community had to pay for the repair.”
CCTV images from a nearby camera show the damage was caused at 7.24am by a car.
@NYorksPolice car deliberately hits wall in Hawes at the top garage this morning. At 7:24am. The clock on the stills is an hour ahead. Let’s trace the driver and get them reported to pay for the damage. Honesty is the best policy in my book. @jillmcmullon @richmond_today pic.twitter.com/gdM64egaP9

Jill said the images would be examined to see if a registration number could be identified.
She said this would then be passed to police if necessary.
