Moulton youngster wins at Royal International Horse Show

A young rider has won a notional title on his first attempt.

Ten-year-old Myles Hartland, who attends Bolton-on-Swale Primary School, qualified with his pony Barkway Alfie Moon for the Royal International Horse Show at Onley Equestrian early this year.

The show was held at Hickstead in West Sussex last week with21 finalist competing in the first ridden show pony championship.

Myles did a faultless performance and won the title, then going on to be reserve champion at the show.

Mum Rebecca said: “This is his first season — I can’t tell you how proud we all are of him.

“Competing at this level so to win such a prestigious show on his first attempt is a massive achievement. He is now aiming to qualify for horse of the year show.”
