An injured walker was rescued from a riverside path in Swaledale after an operation involving mountain rescue volunteers, paramedics and firefighters.
Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team (SMRT) was called out on Sunday evening by North Yorkshire Police to help the Yorkshire Ambulance Service evacuate a casualty from a riverside path between Muker and Gunnerside.
The casualty was located by members of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team before being handed into the care of paramedics.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters from Hawes were mobilised at 7.03pm to Crackpot Hall Road, Keld, alongside paramedics and the mountain rescue team, after reports that a walker had fallen and suffered injuries.
Firefighters said no further action was required once the casualty had been found.
SMRT said it had been “a very midge-infused rescue”.
