Mountain rescue volunteers came to the aid of a delivery driver who had skidded off the road today in the Dales.
The incident involving an Amazon van occurred on Moor Road, Askrigg.
The driver was uninjured but had to be brought down by members of Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team (SMRT) which reached him in their 4×4.
Rescue controller Steve Clough said the conditions were very slippery and likely to deteriorate overnight with more snow forecast.
The incident was the third attended by the team since the start of the year.
Yesterday, the team was called by the police to assist a couple of motorists who had become stranded in snow and ice about a mile from today’s incident above Askrigg.
The initial route was blocked by another stranded vehicle which was dealt with by police.
SMRT volunteers then found another route to the stranded motorists they had been called to help.
Volunteers were called out again at 3.50am this morning after an ambulance crew with patient onboard got stuck on ice near Countersett in Raydale.
Local firefighters managed to free the ambulance but the SMRT team stood by in case they were needed.
