Richmond Golf Club has appointed a new chair following the departure of long-serving chairman Mick Campbell.

Mr Campbell stood down from the role after nearly five years, making the announcement at the club’s annual general meeting on Thursday, April 16.

Board member Lee Coward has now taken over the position.

Mr Campbell said it had been a privilege to lead the club since 2021.

He said: “It has been an honour and privilege to serve as chair of Richmond Golf Club since 2021. During this time the membership has grown and significant improvements have been achieved both on the course and the facilities.

“I’d like to thank the board of directors, the staff and of course the membership, who have given me great support.”

Mr Coward said he was looking forward to building on the progress made.

He said: “I’m delighted to take on the role of chair and aim to build on the legacy left by Mick and continue the success of this great golf club.”
